Intaglio: Aquatint Technique

All right! I’ve learned a new technique! Aquatint. Before I was only able to make shading through cross hatching, where I use lines that criss cross to create value. Now I have a way to make a comparatively smooth gradient.

Well finally, the hard ground process comes to a close. When we left off, I had soaked my plate in acid. After about 20 minutes of soaking I stripped off the hard ground and rosin with mineral spirits and denatured alcohol.
